To make a call using a Credit/Debit Card, swipe the card through the card reader on the phone and follow the instructions. If there is no card reader on the phone, please call 0800 032 0023 and follow the voice prompts to complete the call.

Coins
Most payphones accept 10p, 20p, 50p & £1 coins and BT Chargecards.
Some payphones accept £2 coins.
Some payphones accept 50c, 1 Euro and 2 Euro coins. Euro coins can only be used for directly dialled calls. The exchange rate is 1 Euro = 60p. Payphones operate and display in £ Sterling. Please see the payphone display for details.
Only unused coins will be returned. For short calls please avoid using £1, £2 and 2 Euro coins.
Some payphones do not accept coins. These payphones accept BT Chargecard and Credit/Debit Cards. This is clearly marked on these payphones.
Directory Enquiry Services
Customers can access a range of Directory Enquiry services provided by a variety of service providers.
The BT Payphones Directory Enquiry service number is 118141 (UK) at 50p per minute (minimum fee 60p) for one number only, no onward connect & no return to the Operator. 118141 is only available for cash calls.
There is no access to 118141 from BT business & residential lines or from other networks.
You can also access the following BT numbers from a BT Payphone. Prices quoted below are for cash calls only.
- 118500 (UK inland) at £1.50p per minute - minimum fee 60p.
- 118404 (Welsh language) at £1.50p per minute – minimum fee 60p
- 118060 (International) at £2.00 per minute - minimum fee 60p.
- 118505 (International) at £4.00 per minute – minimum fee 60p.
